SASO Chorus will debut in the 2026-2027 season. This is a fast-paced choir, for singers who enjoy an artistic challenge. We will sing a wide selection of folk music and art music from around the world. Most music will have reference recordings to aid in learning, but a singer’s ability to read music will enable the ensemble to focus on artistry over notes much sooner.
Auditions are required, but don’t worry! They will be brief, we are looking for energy and musicality more than perfection.

Audition Information
Auditions will be held in July 2026, exact date and location will be announced soon.
Note: If you cannot read music, we can discuss alternate ways to demonstrate your musicality in the audition.
Auditions will consist of:
- Sight-singing a passage of your choice from a provided book of sight-singing exercises organized by difficulty. Choose whichever you can do comfortably!
- Aural recall: singing back a few short phrases played on the piano.
- Sing the first 40 measures of “Dies Irae” from Mozart’s Requiem (about 1 minute of music) in your voice part. Click here to download the music.
