Teresa Spinelli
Second Violin
Terry began taking violin lessons as a child in Upstate New York. Ever since she joined the Empire State Youth Orchestra, orchestral playing has been a main source of joy in her life. In high school, Terry devoted her summers to playing orchestra and chamber music at the New York State Summer School of the Arts and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
Terry studied violin with Robert Hanford at Northwestern University, earning a B.A. with majors in Music and History and a minor in German. She then spent a year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Dresden, Germany, where she volunteered with the local refugee community and played in a community orchestra. During law school, she played in Harvard University’s Dudley Orchestra and the Apollo Ensemble of Boston.
Terry joined SASO in 2019, when she moved to Tucson to work as a staff attorney for the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project. She also enjoys playing in the Tucson Repertory Orchestra, participating in the Tucson Adult Chamber Players, and subbing with the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra.
