Michael Kiefer

Trumpet

Principal Trumpet, Soloist, Composer.  Michael Kiefer has been Principal Trumpet with SASO since May of 2005, performed the Haydn Trumpet Concerto as soloist with the orchestra, and even had an original composition performed, Psalm 22 for Symphony Orchestra.  Michael is a graduate of the University of Arizona, Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education, and of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Master of Music in Trumpet Performance.  He has played with groups from the Tucson Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Philharmonia Youth Orchestra of Tucson to the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Opera Company, the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra and as a frequent Cornet soloist with the Old Pueblo Brass Band. While in Las Vegas, Michael was a Graduate Assistant for the UNLV bands and was a freelance trumpeter.  Michael is a member of Bugles Across America, playing Taps for military services.
